Car of the Week: Greg Bunch's '86 Chevy S-10

Welcome to our new series, Car of the Week, where we feature BTE customers and the cars (and trucks) they love to drive and race. Today’s spotlight is on Greg Bunch of Petal, MS and his ’86 Chevy S-10.

How did you get into drag racing?
My cousin Phillip bracket raced and I always went with him. He got me a signed shirt and photo of Monty Todd’s top alcohol funny car and I’ve been hooked since.
When and where was your first race?
My first race was back in 2011 it was a bracket race.
What do you race now?
My race truck is a 1986 Chevy S-10.
What is your car’s nickname?

I call my lil’ S-10 the Saturday Nite Special.

What’s under the hood?
I’m building a 355 small block Chevy. It had a bone stock 350 but it let go on me.
What BTE products do you use in your vehicle?
I have a 2-speed Powerglide in it and it has all BTE guts. I’m about to buy a new converter and it's going to be a BTE.
Why do you use BTE?
My cousin and everyone I've been around in racing with has always used BTE. They support local bracket racers and are racers themselves.
Someone you look up to in racing?

I have always looked up to my cousin Phillip and John Force.
If money were no object, what would you drive?

If money wasn't a problem, I be a big money bracket racer. I’d also have a big cubic inch nitrous motor grudge car..I dream big.
What is your pre-race ritual?
I always like to have every thing ready the day before the race, and have to watch some type of racing before I go. Gets me pumped up.
